Gary Alpert
Gary AlpertGary joined the SRVEF Board in 2016 after retiring from AT&T in 2015. During his 35 year career with AT&T, Gary held various management positions in Information Technology, Customer Care, Home Solutions, Call Center Operations and Network Operations. PP Gary and his wife, Cindy, moved to San Ramon in 1986 from Southern California. They have two children who attended San Ramon schools and both graduated from UC Davis. While his children were at California High School, Gary served as Vice President for one year and President for five years of Cal High’s Academic Boosters prior to Cal High becoming an affiliate of the SRVEF. PP Gary has volunteered on the Run for Education committee for two years. In addition to his service to the SRVEF, he currently is the Chair of City of San Ramon’s Economic Development Advisory Committee and is on the Board of Directors of the San Ramon Arts Foundation. PP Gary has a BA in Economics from the University of California San Diego, an MBA from Cal State Fullerton, an MS in Telecommunications Management from Golden Gate University and is a certified Project Management Professional.
Janis Arnerich
Janis ArnerichJanis comes to the SRVEF board after retiring in 2014. Janis has been an educator for 33 years working first as a teacher in Hayward and then in the SRVUSD at Montair and Sycamore schools. After working as a teacher on special assignment and as the Bay Area School Reform grant coordinator at Montair, Janis went on to become an assistant principal in Pleasanton and a principal at Wagner Ranch School in Orinda for ten years. As a principal Janis championed Orinda's work with Readers and Writers Workshop, the Berkeley Lawrence Hall of Science Partnership for Bay Area Science Education's BaySci Project and 21st Century Learning. PP Janis, along with her husband Newell Arnerich (Danville Town Council) have long been supporters of the SRVEF through donations and as participants in the annual Run for Education. She looks forward to being actively involved in supporting the education of children throughout the San Ramon Valley School District. PP Janis holds a BA from San Francisco State, and masters degrees in Early Childhood Education and Administrative Leadership from St Mary's College in Moraga. Janis and Newell have two married children, both graduates of Greenbrook, Charlotte Wood and San Ramon Valley High School.
Cristene Burr
Cristene BurrCristene Burr has been the Executive Director for The San Ramon Valley Education since May of 2009. Since then, the foundation has experienced significant growth with the Primo’s Run for Education as well as new events and partners such as Read with SRVEF and Prior to working for the foundation, she spent 15 years in Sales and Marketing for Higher Education publishers like McGraw-Hill and Thomson where she pioneered the first educational website and interactive study guide as well as worked to place clicker, immediate response technology into the hands of college students nationwide. PP She has 2 children in the SRVUSD system and has volunteered on both PTA and ED Fund executive boards since her oldest child began kindergarten. She is a product of the SRVUSD school system and attended John Baldwin, Charlotte Wood, and San Ramon Valley High School.
Carol Dunkle
Carol DunkleCarol joined the SRVEF Board in 2015 but has served on the SRVEF Endowment Committee for 4 years and has maintained their donor database for 14 years. She helped with the Run for Education race day registration for the half marathon for several years. She is also the Treasurer of the Endowment Committee. PP Carol and her husband Bill have two sons who attended Green Valley, Los Cerros, and Monte Vista. While Stephen and Peter were in school, Carol and Bill were active in PTA, Athletic and Academic Boosters. PP Carol has a BA in Spanish from Pomona College. She worked in the computer industry for 36 years doing programming, systems analysis and training. She has also been an active volunteer for Pomona. PP
Jeff Eorio
Jeff EorioJeff retired after 32 years in municipal recreation for San Ramon and Walnut Creek and from 4 years of teaching at the junior college level. A resident of Diablo, Jeff is married and his two adult children went through the SRVUSD schools and went on to obtain a doctorate and master’s degree respectively. Jeff believes in public education as he is a product of the CSU system and a public high school in Southern California. Jeff served as race director for the Primo’s Run for Education this past year.
Chris Gayler
Chris GaylerChris represents the third generation in the Gayler Construction family business. PP Chris and his wife, Natalie, move to San Ramon in 2003 and are the parents of two spirited and good-natured boys; Ethan and Zachary. Both boys are in the SRVUSD. The couple is active in sports and community events throughout the Bay Area. PP Chris belongs to the San Ramon Rotary and has served on the board for several years. He is a graduate of the invitation only year-long 2014 Leadership San Ramon program.
Elizabeth Graswich
Elizabeth GraswichElizabeth Graswich is a communications expert with over 15 years of experience in public education leadership, public policy, media relations, crisis management, project management, community outreach, journalism and event planning. In September 2014, Liz was named Director of Communications and Community Relations for the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. In that role, she directs communications for one of California's top-performing school districts. She serves as a liaison with the community, and has the pleasure of serving on multiple community boards and committees. Prior to joining San Ramon Valley Unified, Liz served eight years as Director of Communications for the largest school district in Northern California, Elk Grove Unified, in Sacramento County. She was a Board Member for the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation. Previously, she worked five years as a reporter on the Sacramento Bee newspaper, covering education and public safety. Liz grew up across the continental U.S., Hawaii and Australia, finally selecting California as home. She and her husband have two sons.
Tim Gunderson
Tim GundersonTim joined the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation board of directors in 2014. He is currently Senior Director of Business Development at DocuSign. Tim came to DocuSign from NetSuite where he led their strategic technology partners group and NetSuite’s emerging global systems integrator program. Prior to NetSuite, Tim held business development roles at the NASDAQ Stock Market and an e-commerce startup and finance positions at a publicly traded health care company and private investment bank. Tim's track record is evidenced by meaningful relationships at fortune 500 companies and fast-growing startups and continuously driving channel revenue. PP Prior to joining the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation board of directors, Tim served on the board of the East Bay Leadership Foundation. He also is a board member of the Furst-McNess Company. PP Tim received a BA from the University of Washington and an MBA from U.C. Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
Jonathan Watts
Jonathan WattsJonathan Watts' practice focuses on Business Law which includes entity selection, formation, business transactions and contracts; Internet Law where he recognized the need for an innovative, creative and focused approach that specifically applied to this dynamic and ever changing environment; Tax Law where he sleuths out the potential tax consequences for both professional and businesses and Estate Planning.
Donna Yokomizo
Donna YokomizoDonna comes to the SRVEF board after retiring from 38 years in SRVUSD as a K-5 teacher at Vista Grande, Greenbrook, Twin Creeks, Bollinger, Sycamore and principal at Alamo and Hidden Hills. She has long admired the dedication and commitment that community members give to organizations that support schools. Being on the board of SRVEF gives her the opportunity to give back to the school community that she worked in for so many years. Donna is also proud to have brought after school science to hundreds of children through her affiliation with Hands on Science Outreach and to have helped nurture creativity through the introduction of Odyssey of the Mind to valley schools. PP Donna is a long time resident of the valley and a product of California public schools. She holds a BS from San Francisco State, a K-6 teaching credential from Cal State Hayward, a supplementary general science credential, and a masters and administrative credential from St. Mary’s College. Donna and her husband Cliff reside in Dublin. They have two married children and two grandchildren.
Colin Zink
Colin ZinkAn East Coast native, Colin relocated to California in 1993 and has lived in the San Ramon Valley since 2000. He served three years as president of the Live Oak Education Fund, which supports Live Oak Elementary, SRVUSD’s largest elementary school. Involved in the community as a San Ramon Soccer Club coach, Colin is also a founding member of the Loyola University Maryland Northern California Alumni Chapter, and currently sits on its board as first vice president. PP Colin works at Pleasanton-based Workday, one of SRVEF’s proud supporters. Prior to that, he spent over a decade in media and entertainment, where he marketed media brands; oversaw conferences and trainings; and produced trade shows and film festivals. PP Colin resides in San Ramon with his wife, Erin, and their three children who all attend schools within the SRVUSD.
