Professional Development

We believe educators need a place to gather to share and mentor each other to grow and expand as teachers and leaders in our school community. There has never been a physical location that has been able to host more than 30 educators in an atmosphere where there is access to Classroom of the Future Technology until now. The San Ramon Valley Education Foundation has funded creation of the Professional Development center as well as the technology behind those walls. Because of this support, the SRVUSD is able to offer a wide variety of professional development opportunities to their staff.  The calendar provides a detailed view of daily offerings. As one of our 4 major causes, we also fund various programs happening inside the walls and within the SRVUSD.

Examples of this include:

Coaches Council for the past 5 years, the SRVUSD has received a $10,000 grant to fund mentors for the readers and writers workshop model from Columbia University. These coaches have implemented the program at schools across the SRVUSD through a variety of workshops as well as the creation of a rich website with teaching strategies that aid the implementation of this program. It is estimated that in the past 10 years this program has touched 30,000 children.
