For 2008-2009,
the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation will continue to support
the district Reading and Writing Project through grants. This
year, however, we will permit each school to allocate the funds
as they see fit. SRVEF will grant $1,000 to each SCHOOL that
has submitted an appropriate application.
Each school
may submit ONE application. The application must describe
how the funds will be used.
Some
funding examples:
-
A
school may choose to spend half their grant on professional
development with in-school coaches for 8th grade teachers, and
half on RWP-related books.
-
A
school may decide to give every RWP-trained teacher a portion
of the grant funds.
-
A
school may chose to use all of their funds for professional
development.
-
Be submitted by the principal and one RWP-trained school representative
(both names must be part of the application);
-
Briefly describe
how the funds will be used and how it fits with the overall
strategy of the RWP at your school; and,
-
Be
submitted electronically through the SRVUSD/SRVEF Grant system.
