Introduction
It is with a great deal of pleasure that I write this letter of support
for the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation. Since 1982 this outstanding
organization has provided direct support for classrooms and schools,
and in doing so, has contributed to the quality of our school district
and community. Whether it has been in direct grants in support of innovation
from classroom teachers, or funding for district-wide education initiatives,
the SRVEF, through the leadership of their Board of Trustees and the
contribution of thousands of community members, the Foundation could
be counted on for their commitment to quality public education for our
community.
While certainly the majority of funding for public education comes
from the Sate and local parcel taxes, these sources are unable to fully
fund the programs which are needed to educate our children for the global,
competitive environment in which they will live and work. The communities
served by the San Ramon Valley Unified School District understand the
importance of maintaining and strengthening the quality public education.
Quite frankly, we cannot do it alone, and thus the critical need for
support of the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation.
I am pleased to personally support this outstanding, independent, non-profit
organization and I invite you to join me in this effort. Most importantly,
the 28,000 students of our school district, their teachers and all other
staff thank you for caring about our schools and for giving of your
time and resources to this wonderful organization.
Sincerely,
Steven Enoch
Superintendent of Schools
San Ramon Valley Unified School District
